Inspired by a desire to establish queer erotic-romance narratives outside of heteronormativity; Deprival traverses the knife edge of a gothic melodrama, depicting the gruelling moments between holding onto one’s solitary constraints or embracing an intimate collision. The apparel’s design emphasises body and queer inclusivity by fragmenting gendered forms and utilising corsetry’s body-morphing properties.
Low-rise silhouette skims the hip before tapering to the knee, echoing gothic romance’s knife-edged tension. Precision-cut panels contour and flatten through the waist, then flare subtly to ease movement. Discreet corset lacing is inset along the left seam, allowing personalised cinch or release, depending on the moment.
100% cotton stretch drill, robust twill weave with subtle give for comfort and shape retention. Fully self-faced panels for a clean interior; raw edges are overlocked for longevity. Dyed rich coal-black for a soft hand that ages beautifully with wear
Bespoke to trans-male body [post top ops]. Gendered cues are fragmented: a traditionally feminine corset becomes a subversive utility detail; the masculine waistband is lowered to nuffify the hip curve. Purpose-made to celebrate bodies on their own terms—lace tighter for a razor-sharp waist or loosen for fluid comfort.

The piece being sold and depicted is a sample from my AUT graduate collection, repurposed for Ahua Fashion Week S/S 25. It was created with an unhoned hand [mine], so it has imperfections in the quality of craftsmanship; however, it is still a wearable piece that will last a long time.
