The skirt takes inspiration from 1920 buttoned slit skirts with the garment lying at the proper hip and dropping to ankle length. The silhouette seamlessly blends period elegance with tactile contrast, transitioning from a mid-calf length of tailored, pure wool charcoal suiting to plush wool faux fur.
The garment is constructed from pure wool charcoal suiting for the upper half, with the lower half in 100 % wool faux fur. It is fully lined in sangria-purple 100% viscose for a sumptuous drape and next-to-skin comfort. The front fastens with four oversized 27 mm buttons along a reinforced placket, and the back features two double-welt pockets in cross-weave wool pocketing for discreet storage.
Pair with a tucked-in silk blouse and stacked-heel boots for evening glamour, or style with a simple tee and trainers to subvert expectations.
The piece being sold and depicted is a sample from my AUT graduate collection, repurposed for Ahua Fashion Week S/S 25. It was created with an unhoned hand [mine], so it has imperfections in the quality of craftsmanship; however, it is still a wearable piece that will last a long time.
